WHY RECYCLE
LAMPS AND LUMINAIRES?

Royal Decree 208/2005, which regulates all aspects relating to the management of electrical and electronic equipment once its useful life has ended, includes in its category 5 all the light bulbs and luminaires that we must recycle:

> low-energy light bulbs,
> fluorescent tubes,
> discharge lamps,
> retrofit LEDS,
> luminaires,
> illuminated signs and
> emergency luminaires.

These lamps and luminaires are formed by materials that we can recover and recycle in order to help protect the environment. In addition, the lamps contain small amounts of mercury in their interior that we must control to avoid contamination of the environment. Although in small amounts they are not harmful, they can become a problem if not controlled.
